Concept Guns 2007 are here. These unique firearms have been designed and manufactured by Benelli following a totally non-conventional policy, that sees a new approach to the shotguns, made up of stimulation, emotions, intuitions, that inflame all the senses and create a new cognitive equilibrium. Tradition evolves and the avant-garde becomes perception. The Concept Guns 2007 are based on the Super Black Eagle, a gun with attractive and distinctive lines, given an extremely characteristic look, but every detail has been revised, with the accent on new sensitivity.

The stock and fore-end are in leather, in the warm and seductive tones of brown, ivory and black. Almost like a dress draped around the gun, the leather makes the lines and volumes more tangible and endows the shotgun with a greater physical presence. The “warmth”, softness and fragrance of this unusual finish act as a stimulating invitation to get up close and personal with the gun: the sense of smell is involved in this discovery. The sense that has least to do with the immediate and rational view of reality. Aromas and smells become part of our perception and their unconscious and irrational nature encounters our emotions.
 
The receivers are in hard-wearing PVD, a plasmatic process over a base of titanium and chrome cabonitride, achieved by evaporating a metallic source in a vacuum chamber, followed by a layer being deposited over the surface of the pieces. This technique offers incredible advantages: extremely high resistance to abrasion and corrosion, unaltered by heat, resistance to solvents, and biocompatibility. The sense of touch brushing over the receiver detects with extraordinary precision the stimuli coming from contact with the surface. This sense tries inexorably to “grasp” the truth, to experience it intensely and to overcome the illusion.

The smooth slip of the cartridges in the magazine, the bolt sliding cleanly along the metal guides and the head closing sharply and with no vibration in the chamber are only the sounds that accompany the manual loading operations. The stops and the frictions between the surfaces have been calibrated and modified so that our sense of hearing distinguishes the exact dimension of consistency and solidity.

The Damasteel enhances the metal parts, bolt and carrier. This is a special technique in which the ferrous and carbonaceous alloys are hammered and folded together in such a way that the molecular and structural characteristics of the material are blended together:  this fusion highlights the tones of the steel to the maximum, giving it incredible reflections. A five-axis laser process has been used to create the engraving on the carrier: geometries, lines, circles, eye-catching patterns that evoke curiosity. The Concepts demand total attention and the eye is urged to continue on its journey. Perceiving stimuli in terms of form, colour, dimension and position of the objects in space. Seeking to reveal, to comprehend, to be intensely amazed.

Stone, Stripe and Ring are the names of the Concept Guns 2007. Benelli strives towards a new way of approaching the product, using elements that affect the senses. The choice of materials such as leather, PVD and Damasteel encourages the public to experience the gun in a new dimension, stimulating and elevating the perceptive quality.
